Great Barrier Reef Legacy

The Great Barrier Reef stretches along Australia’s northeastern coast, forming the largest living structure on Earth. The Great Barrier Reef is one of Australia’s most spectacular natural wonders. The reef is highly vulnerable and has been significantly damaged with rapid climate change being one of the greatest threats to the reef.

Rainforest Rescue

Reforestation is one of the most cost-effective climate solutions available. Rainforest  biodiversity maintains our atmosphere and establishes the ecosystem upon which all of humanity depends, including rainfall generation and climate regulation. Rainforests support around 50% of the land-based species of plants and animals on Earth. Beautiful, dynamic, and structurally complex, these forests are essential contributors to global ecology and represent millions of years of evolution.

Rainforest Rescue has been protecting and restoring rainforests in Australia and internationally since 1998. We do this by purchasing and protecting the biodiversity of high conservation value rainforest, and by re-establishing rainforest through planting, maintenance and restoration

Rainforest Rescue projects :

Save A Rainforest: Save a Rainforest projects re-establish rainforests through maintenance and restoration programs, as well as purchasing and protecting high conservation value rainforest and preserving its’ biodiversity.

Plant A Rainforest: The rainforests are disappearing with 65,000 hectares cleared or significantly degraded every single day. Rainforest Rescue’s Plant a Rainforest projects replant previously cleared areas of rainforest and establish habitat for the plants and animals endemic to the specific ecosystem, which protects its precious biodiversity.

Species Conservation: We are losing the rich diversity of the rainforests. Many of these irreplaceable animal and plant species are now under threat and need our help to survive into the future. Conserving biodiversity means protecting rainforest landscapes, species populations, genes, and interactions into the future.
